If you're bored and looking for a cool science experiment to do at home, try synthesizing Carbon Quantum Dots at home: all you need is:

• vinegar

• sugar

• baking soda

• de ionized water (if you dont have it or dont know what it is, regular tap water will suffice, however, the final dilution will not be as prominent)

• microwave and;

• UV light

mix sugar and vinegar and heat it up in the microwave to invert the sucrose into its polymetric isotopes- glucose and fructose, then neutralize the solution- SLOWLY with baking soda, bit by bit so it doesn't turn into a first grade volcano science experiment, microwave again until golden brown, then verify the presence of carbon dots under the UV light, Voila! Carbon quantum dots!
